building   The publishing company Enciclopèdia Catalana was founded in Barcelona in 1965, for the purpose of publishing great reference works. The publication of a Great Encyclopaedia started in 1967. This work in 15 volumes counted with the collaboration of more than 2.000 specialists. The work, whose diffusion has been very important, is currently available in a second edition of 24 volumes. Today, Enciclopèdia Catalana occupies one of the top positions amongst publishing houses in Barcelona, due to the depth of its catalogue and the size of its business turnover.


ENCICLOPÈDIA CATALANA HEADQUARTERS
The Garriga Nogués House, a beautiful example of modernist architecture from the early years of the twentieth century, designed by the architect E. Sagnier, is the home of the editorial group Enciclopèdia Catalana.

The building, which conserves some remarkable artistic elements -esculpture, satined glass windows -is in the commercial and business center of Barcelona. There you will find a bookshop, an auditorium, as well as the company's own offices.
